Galaxy nails- my attempt!

So, I'm being original as always when it comes to my nails (not!) and have had a go a what seems like a huge trend at the moment; Galaxy nails!

Messy cuticles, tut!

All pre-clean up in artificial light

With flash

Direct sunlight
I didn't apply much method to these, but more made it up as I went along! I started of with a base coat of no7 Betty blues, and then lightly sponged on no7 vivid violet and spun sugar and did some random white dots with ORLY French manicure using a cocktail stick. When all that was thoroughly dry I did one coat of BYS starlette (silver glitter) and then a few little blobs of nubar 2010 in the the main 'galaxys'.

Then some in just natural light, all cleaned up!

I'm quite pleased with them, but it's made me realise just how much I need to get a good top coat!
Have you got any simple nail designs/art that you fall back on? because I could really do with some inspiration! Also I've recently purchased rimmel matte top coat, so look forward to some swatches of the mess I make experimenting with that!

  1. I LOVE your nails! I swear, any combination totally works well! I'm gonna have to get some black polish to try this out like this!

  2. You are the master of nail painting! I am very bad at it. I always paint my whole finger and then wait for it to peel off in the shower lol. But your nails look great! :)

  4. OMG! I LOVE this! I seriously need to start being more adventurous with my nails. Frankly, it's a miracle if they're even painted. =) I think I may start amassing the supplies to do this nail.

  6. It looks really good, I keep needing to look again at the patterns haha.

I almost bought a glittery polish the other day, but wasn't sure it wouldnt be all scratchy after being applied.

If you find any fun nail tutorials, please post about it!

  10. It's "Out of This World!" hee hee, I made a funny! Love it, my daughter would get a kick out of this. I don't want her to wear straight up black nail polish since she's only 8, even though I would let her but I think her school teachers would think otherwise. This is perfect to add the glitter, it makes it fun! Love it!
